NAME

env - run a program in a modified environement

SYNOPSIS

env

[-i] [name=value] [utility [argument...]]

DESCRIPTION

The env utility obtains the current environement, modifies it according to its arguments. If a utility was specified the program invokes it with the modified environement, otherwise it prints the modified environement to standard output.

OPTIONS

-i

Invoke utility with exactly the environement specified by the arguments; the current environement is ignored completely.

OPERANDS

name=value

The environement variable name is set to value.

utility

The name of the utility to be invoked.

argument

A string to pass as an argument for the invoked utility.
