accounthing - accounting software for terminal users

SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION

Accounthing makes it easy to manage customers and transactions and create invoices from it.

OPTIONS

-h

Print a simple help message to the screen.

-I

Open an interactive text-mode UI session.

-ac

Add a new customer.

-lc

List all customers in a fancy way.

-pc

Dump the (decrypted) customer database.

-sc cterm

Search for customers either by their CID or by their name,

-rc cterm

Remove a customer from the database.

-at

Add a new transaction.

-atc CID date num [price] description

Add a new transaction with the specified parameters.

-lt [year]

List all transactions during the current or a specified year.

-pt

Dump the (decrypted) transaction database.

-st term

Search for all transactions that match term.

-rt term

Remove all transactions that match term.

-i [term]

Generate invoices for all transactions matching term. If term is empty, the current month is used.

OPERANDS

CID

A unique customer ID.

TID

A unique transaction ID.

date

A date in the YYYY-MM-DD format.

month

A month of a year in the YYYY-MM format.

year

A year in the YYYY format.

num

An integer or a decimal with upto two decimal places.

price

Same as num.

description

A short text that shall not contain a comma.

term

A search term for transactions.
Can be one of:
- tterm
- tterm:cterm
- :cterm

cterm

A search term for customers. Can either be the CID or the name of the customer.

tterm

The actual search term for transactions.
Can be one of:
- TID
- year-TID
- date
- month
- year

EXTENSIONS

Git Integration

Accounthing has optional git(1) integration. Every time a database is modified, the changes are commited to a local repository.

GnuPG Encryption

Databases can be encrypted with gpg(1). GPG must be properly set-up to function correctly.
