SYNOPSIS

cat

[-u] [file...]

DESCRIPTION

The cat utility reads files in sequence and writes their contents to the standard output in the same sequence.

OPTIONS

-u

(ignored)

OPERANDS

The following operand is supported:

file

A pathname of an input file. If no file operands are specified, the standard input is being used. If a file is ’-’, the cat utility reads from the standard input at that point in sequence. The cat utility does not close or reopen standard input referenced in this way, but accepts multiple occurences of ’-’ as a file operand.
